The Penobscot Bay YMCA is driven by the desire to strengthen the foundations of our community. We do this
through programs and services that focus on Youth Development, Healthy Living and Social Responsibility. Applying
the core values of caring, honesty, responsibility and respect to every activity, the Y strives each day to positively
impact those living in our service area.

Hank Lunn, Connections Program Director, offers a great example of this: "I developed the CONNECTIONS
program in 2002 for parents and children in grades 3-4-5 in Knox County and Lincolnville – and I’ve been directing it
ever since. This free program at the Y gives parents and kids from dozens of families the chance to spend some
special time together, eat a simple meal (FOOD), engage in short discussions about making healthy choices (FACTS),
and do non-competitive, team-building activities (FUN). We’re having fun while nurturing closer bonds between the
children and adults in a professionally facilitated, supportive environment. Without the Y, this program would never
happen. I am so grateful, and so are these families!"

Each day, more than 1,000 people come to the Y: young children, teens, adults, families and senior citizens all find
programs and services that impact their daily lives in a positive way.
